I WAS going to review the first two Harry Potter movies as they are all the rage in my house these days. Tiana is almost through the second book; thank goodness I already have them all!
Instead I will drop a quick note about Pokemon: Zoroack: Master of Illusion which we saw in the theater thanks to the Black and White tour that we spent the weekend enjoying. This is the second time I have seen a Pokemon movie in the theater the first being Pokemon Movie 2000 before Tiana was even born! It was standard Pokemon entertainment, cute Pokemon, legendary Pokemon, Ash still eleven years old…. I was fun and cute and all that, but I really don’t have much to say as much about the movie as I do of the people. The first day of the tour I was surprised to see plenty of pokemon obsessed adults walking around in pikachu costumes. I take no issue with that….it was pleasantly reminiscent of Con, without the total weirdos. I was expecting a lot of moms like me, with their kids. I was happy that I would enjoy everything as much as the kids, unlike a lot of parents there. But there were far more adults decked out in costume, toting their DS’s, and giggling like children. All was well and the crowds weren’t even troublesome! After the movie at the theater a few adults even engaged our 9 and 3 year old in conversation about the movie, their enthusiasm equaling theirs yet they kept it simple enough for them to understand. I think they were surprised to realize it wasn’t just the kids who enjoyed it all but Walter and I as well. I’ve never been die hard fan of Pokemon (though I do enjoy it just fine as my kids partake) , but the striking difference between these fans and the regular Con fans was enough to bring about a huge appreciation to the adult fans for being so kid friendly, clean mouthed, and full of excitement. Cheers Pokemon, for what, at least 13 years of good clean fun!!?? It wouldn’t have been near as fun if we’d just caught it on Cartoon Network on Feb 5th!!
If anyone was wondering, yes we got a bit hacked…..okay a lot hacked. I forgot about a cart I installed and abandoned awhile back and it left a security hole. Oops….But, it’s all fixed now
Don’t forget to comment on Josh’s 31 in 31. It’s not fair if I get the $20 Amazon gift card by being the only one to comment !!
