Archive for the ‘Must Have Movies’ Category

How big is your Movie collection? Wish it was bigger? Well let me help you out. I know like you needed another reason to buy more movies. Maybe you are a filmmaker and and didn’t real ease a edition or remastered blu-ray edition was coming out. Perhaps you are or know a movie noobie and want to get a good classic for yourself or as a gift, or perhaps both. Well let see what we can do to help out and keep you informed of what to pick up each week.

Note that each week I will be pulling the listing from amazon because that is where I buy my movies from but I will only list the key movies coming out that you can also find in your local  Walmart, Target, Best Buy, or other local stores. So you won’t have to fret that you have to go online to find these gems. So lets get on with this weeks new releases that you should have.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Okay so this one may not be for everyone but if you are a fan of the first film this is a must get. Many people were upset with the second film and didn’t like it. Heck some people thought they slaughtered the franchise in the first film. To them and everyone I would remind you that there is a huge difference between telling a story in a movie versus telling it in a TV show. With a weekly show you have years to develop characters and relationships between characters. In a movie you have a matter of a few hours. So for this movie cast off your pre conceptions and just sit back and enjoy the fun and excitement of a Michael Bay film.

Ben Hur (50th Anniversary Edition)
What this movie isn’t in your collection already? Okay well it’s not in mine yet either. No excuses now though. This is a complete remastering of this classic movie. Not only is it the 50th Anniversary edition, but it is also available on Blu-ray. Blu-ray people. Come on no more making the excuse of I’m waiting for the remastered Hi-def version. It is here and should joining your collection. Also get this now and save it for a Christmas gift for those movie fans you have on your list. It’s never to early to start shopping for great movie gifts.

Footloose (Deluxe Edition)
Did you know that it can cost $10 – $15 for a movie ticket? So the remake of this movie comes out very soon. You know what I say to that? Buy this copy which is already going to be way better. I mean come on Kevin Bacon and John Lithgow in the same movie. How can you go wrong. Besides if you buy this one you can watch it over and over again. Heck you watch it enough and you might just learn how to dance or how to just cut loose and have fun. Depending on which character you are.

Well that’s going to do it for the major movies this week. But if you are a TV show junkie but like to wait for the entire season to be released the last weeks and next week are taking aim at your wallet. There are a plethora of new seasons that just released mostly because we just started the new fall season.

See you guys next week, and keep that collection growing.
